Some people stick with you, and Ronnie Allgood has with me. I met him while on assignment about a year ago and called him last week for a class assignment. Ronnie has been clean and sober for "I forget how long I don't have my notebook with me now, but it's over two years" and he celebrated his two year anniversary at his place of work on Feb. 15. He's got one of those infectious personalities that you can't help smile when you listen to him talk.

Sorry for going so long without a post but it's been a long winter.

I got a new-to-me camera last week and I won't go so far as to say that cameras make you a better photographer but this camera leica's my girlfriend as much as I do! She's so purty.
Anyhow, more to come just thought I'd post a nice picture....

Today was one of those days....I'm going to miss the Daily News....it was supposed to be a slow day. I was going to the store to get some lunch and the scanner just exploded. An accident north of town on the Interstate left two dead...it was bad. I got there to get a shot of the driver, an 83 year old man, recieving CPR in front of a life-flight helicopter. Very sad and tense...he died shortly after I began taking photos of a BGFD fireman trying to save his life. (A National Gaurd 1st Lt. platoon leader, who got back from Iraq last January, was behind the accident and pulled the man and his passenger from the burning van!). It was a hot day and it was shitty to be there.
But, I am at home after having a nice, late dinner with Christina and watching an old SNL episode (Johnny Cash hosting and Elton John singing!!!). We went for a walk, had a drink with some friends on the porch and now we're reading. Also, I shot golf this morning and the above shot is my favorite. I love golf. It's just the idea of being out there, on a hot day, doing nothing with a few others. It reminded me of the men at the accident scene; they were waiting for something to happen and stood around uncomfortably, indifferent and helpless as this 83 year old man died. Damn it. I hope you gathered that whole thought....I may have butchered it. Oh well, it's late....that's why I take pictures, I guess.

Hello all, summer has been good so far. I've been getting some hours at work and it's just too nice to sit in front of a computer and ramble about crap...sorry it's been so long. Here is some pics....just daily pics from work.
The big trip north is around the corner and I can't wait...summer school starts tommorow. English. ugh.

Hello all, So I'm a blog slacker. The luster of posting has officially worn off and the commitments to school and the playoffs have taken over. For the record, the Flames got shafted AGAIN tonight. I think the teams from California (San Jose and Anaheim) have paid the refs. After watching Sunday's Nashville game and tonight's Flames game, I can only shake my head.
No pictures tonight. Sorry. I'm up finishing a paper. And it sucks. The rain and bad 80's rock is keeping me awake. ugh.
I'll do a real update next week.

Hello all, yesterday I went to a local high school to shoot some pictures of the FMA (Functionaly, Mentally Disabled) class.
It pairs disabled students with ones in the general population. The idea is to socialize both students with each other. Everyone learns.
On Valentine's Day, John Michael and Ty, right, are delivering balloon-a-grams.
The teachers of this program are just great and I can't wait to get back out there and shoot some more pictures. More to come....

On another note, Canada wins again!!! 7-2 over Italy. The Americans tied! and Hasek hurt his leg! I mean, so sorry to hear that the Czech team has lost thier starting goalie...Gee, I wonder what that means for Ottawa. Hey Cory, can you say "FORE!!!"

So I get out there and my first assignment yesterday is the "Penguin Plunge." "Ha," I think. "This is Kentucky. Where will they find cold water here?" In the pool they left sitting outside all nite when it snowed-that's where. After chopping ice off the top, a bunch of adults in costumes jumped in, in the name of fundraising for Junior Achievment. Good stuff. Good pics. Good times.
After that I went it was coffee. Mmmmm coffee. Then I woke Nathan and James' ass us because it was Joey's birthday the nite before. Happy Birthday Joey.
Jim and I shot some kids on Van Meter Hill and Jim shot me falling down Van Meter hill. Thanks Jim.

This is where the day gets fun: The Rodeo. I love this stuff. It's just plain fun. I was right down at the gate when they where riding the bulls and so close i was get fog on my lens from the bull. hmmmm. well, the 2nd bull kicks up some dirt and everyone laughs because the guy with the cattle prod and I have dirt on our faces (my lens) I decided to shift my position a little bit. The third bulls tail was long. The funny thing about bull tails: they're full of shit. When this bull swung around his tail whiped right between the rails and smacked my lens like a bullseye! Shit sprayed all over my camera and on the guy's face right next to me. I haven't laughed so hard with strangers in a long time. I think they were laughing at us though...oh well. It was still funny as hell.

Then I had a basketball game and forgot my charger in the media room. ugh.

It's snowing.
